From the delivery of short knowledge-sharing initiatives to the creation of a dedicated sports business school with over 2,000 graduates, the importance of education at UEFA has grown exponentially over the decade. Expertise, relentless improvement and community are the ingredients that have made the UEFA Academy come alive. Discover the education model of UEFA and the lessons learned from a learning and development passionate and Head of the UEFA Academy: Thomas Junod.

Thomas is the Head of the UEFA Academy, the home for all the UEFA’s educational learning initiatives. He holds a master degree in economics and is a certified expert in Learning and Development.
The UEFA Academy seeks to inspire the education of individuals and organisations to continuously elevate the game of football.
Thomas has been an external lecturer in strategy of sports organisations at the University of Lausanne. Before joining UEFA, he was an advisor on economic affairs to members of the Swiss parliament, and a sports reporter for newspaper and radio stations in Switzerland. He was also active as a chief coordinator at the International Olympic Academy.
